On Saturday 6th July the Jury of the International Competition “Embroidery and Lace between Art and Tradition … noble and civic coat of arms” gathered in Bolsena, in the splendid frescoed halls of Palazzo del Drago.

The theme of the competition was chosen to remember the figure of Prince Giovanni del Drago, who died in May 2016.

The Jury was composed of the President Dr. Carla Benocci, former Superintendent of the Museums of the Municipality of Rome, and of the Jurors: Don Ferdinando del Drago, Marquise Maria Adelaide Capranica del Grillo; Prof. Arch. The competition consisted of two tenders, one for the Art Schools / High Schools for projects, the other for lace and embroidery works.

Participation in the competition exceeded our expectations both for the number of participants and for the high quality of the works that dealt with elaborate and complex themes, with were sent from north to south of the peninsula.
